UV activated Art Exhibition: Paper Installation

The opportunity to develop UV-activated paper sculptures for RADIANTRA, a group Exhibition in LA, was an excellent way to showcase my surface experiments utilising UV paints. This has had a positive effect on my development in several ways. In the past, I have used stencils to spray surface applications onto pre-folded templates. Adding spray UV applications to folded forms has revealed some surprising outcomes. My forms are highly flexible, and my ability to manipulate and spray from many angles has enabled me to highlight parts of the build and create strong contrasts.
The UV effect is stunning; however, it tends to flatten forms and relies on UV light to activate the luminous effect. This process has revealed a surface approach that I will continue exploring using a range of pigments in the future.
